Primary Series

The Primary Series is also known as Yoga Chikita. It is the healing series.

There are six series in Ashtanga yoga, these are:

  1. Primary series
  2. Intermediate series
  3. Advanced A series
  4. Advanced B series
  5. Advanced C series
  6. Advanced D series

The primary series is great for building strength, flexibility and balance, all of which will be needed for asanas in future series.
