In David Swenson's practice manual, he says to hold Tolasana for 100 deep breaths?
Firstly, is it true? are you meant to hold it for 100 breaths?!
Secondly, can anyone do it? I can get to 25 breathes, which is what my teacher told us to aim for. |

firstly, i believe the proper name is uth pluthi, not tolasana
it's also not strictly an asana according to the Yoga Mala, the book also says to hold as long as possible.
i found this http://www.ionet.net/~tslade/yogvid04.htm
it's a kinda transcript of skjp at Santa Monica in 1993, he has the students in uth pluthi for 25 breaths. |
