I have not been doing ashtanga that long, but other types of yoga for about 2 years.
I find self practice challenging, I can't keep my mind on counting my breaths, i would get to 3 and then just forget where I am... It's frustrating that something as simple as counting becomes such a challenge!
I also can't seem to remember the sequence, anyone got any idea how to memorize it? |

Hi Tamar,
It sounds like you can't keep your count because your mind isn't on your practice. Concentrate on your drishti, it always help.
When you mind wanders, so does your eyes (and vice versa). |

now that you mention it, i sometimes lose concentration in paschimatanasana
i love that asana so much it's so relaxing I forget where I am. I bring myself back by really concentrating on breathing and creating the sound (ujjayi)
when i lose count in paschimatanasana, i just add 3 more breaths then move on. i guess this principle can be applied to any asana where you lose count. |
